About Us — Meridian Studio

Our story

Meridian Studio started in 2018 when two freelancers — a designer and a developer — decided they were tired of mediocre web experiences. They pooled their savings, rented a desk in a coworking space in Ponsonby, and took on their first client: a local café that needed a website.

That café site led to a restaurant group. The restaurant group led to a hospitality SaaS company. Eight years later, we've delivered 127 projects for clients across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.

We're still in Ponsonby — we just need a lot more desks now.

What drives us

We have three principles that guide every decision we make.

Craft over speed

We'd rather spend an extra week getting the details right than ship something half-baked. Our clients come to us because they want quality, not just deliverables.

Honesty over hype

We'll tell you if your idea needs work. We'll push back on scope creep. We'd rather lose a pitch than overpromise and underdeliver.

Outcomes over output

A beautiful website that doesn't convert is a failure. We measure success by business impact, not Dribbble likes.

Our workspace

Our Ponsonby studio is where ideas come to life. Open plan, natural light, whiteboards everywhere. We believe physical space shapes creative output, so we invested in a space that inspires.

We also have team members working remotely from Wellington, Christchurch, and Melbourne. We've built our workflows to support both in-person and distributed collaboration.
